About Us

Our facility, established in 1963, was a vision of a local minister, Leonard Custer. His goal was to offer North Manchester a premier funeral home that featured chapel style parlors and adequate off street parking. Through the years the building has been modified to accommodate growth and the special needs of our handicapped friends. In 1968, Darwin & Valeria DeLaughter purchased the business and in 1992 Mike & Kelly McKee became partners. With the DeLaughter's retirement in 2007, the McKee's became sole owners

Located at 1401 State Road 114 West in historic North Manchester, we serve families from the communities of Laketon, Silver Lake, Claypool, Sidney, Bippus and Urbana as well.

With over 90 years combined funeral service experience, our staff stands ready to serve with dignity, integrity, and expertise. Attention to all the details surrounding the care and service to your family is our utmost concern.

	Michael J. McKee - Owner and Funeral Director Mike graduated from Manchester High School in 1975 and Vincennes University of Funeral Service in 1978. Providing funeral service to North Manchester for over 30 years, he is the son of Betty McKee, North Manchester and the late Bob McKee. He is married to the former Kelly Lewis and they have two children, Abby and Mattie, and one granddaughter, Malery. Mike is an active member of the Oaklawn Cemetery board of directors, the North Manchester Historcial Society board of directors and the First Brethren Church.
	Kelly L. McKee - Owner and Pre-Arrangement Counselor Kelly is a 1986 graduate of Manchester High School and holds an Indiana Life Insurance License. Providing funeral service to North Manchester for over 18 years, Kelly is the daughter of Ira and Nancy Lewis of rural Silver Lake. She is married to Mike and they have two children, Abby and Mattie, and one granddaughter, Malery. Kelly is an active participant in the Junior Achievement program at Manchester Elementary School and a member of First Brethren Church.
	Candace J. Petrie - Pre-Arrangement Counselor and Receptionist Candie is a 1986 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and holds an Indiana Life Insurance License. She has provided funeral service pre-arragement counseling for over 10 years. She is the daughter of Chuck and Martha Burbank of rural Silver Lake and is married to Carl. They have two children, Jessica and Clayton. Candie is an active participant in the Junior Achievement program at Manchester Elementary School, a member and treasurer of the Manchester Athletic Booster Club and a member of First Brethren Church.
	David W. Nordmann - Funeral Director, Pre-Arrangement Counselor and Monument Sales David is a 1975 graduate of Manchester High School and a 1988 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service at New Albany, IN. A funeral director and embalmer, David has provided funeral service in North Manchester for 32 years. His parents are Wayne and Earlene Nordmann of rural Roann. He married Louise J. Blocher in 1982, they have two children, Christopher of North Manchester and Amanda and her husband, Brandon Fannin of rural Rochester, IN who are expecting their first child in January 2010. David is a member and Past President of the North Manchester Lions Club. David and Louise are the owners of Nordmann's Nook, a fresh bakery and fine wood furniture store.
