Our Services

Knowing that each family has different desires for funeral services, we offer a wide variety of choices. Making decisions concerning these services before the need arises is time well spent. It allows you to discuss, understand, select goods and services, and determine the cost.

At McKee Mortuary we offer 16 caskets on the premises in a variety of colors, material, and cost. Burial vaults, which are required by almost all area cemeteries, are also on display at our funeral home.

Traditional funeral services, along with memorial services, lodge and fraternal services can be discussed frankly and specifically with our pre-arrangement counselors. Cremation service options can also be explored for those persons desiring cremation as final disposition of the body. In fact, until recently many people thought that cremation eliminated a viewing of the body, and having funeral services. As you will find as you review our cremation options, this is no longer the case. Cremation urns and urn vaults are also available at McKee Mortuary Inc.

CREMATION OPTIONS

Basic Cremation Services
This service option is designed for families desiring the basic services associated with cremation.  Our charges include:  Basic Services of the funeral directors and staff, removal from place of death to our funeral home, sanitizing procedures, transportation to Hoosier Crematory, Akron, IN and Hoosier Crematory cremation fee and a minimum container required by Hoosier Crematory.  This does not include sales tax of $8.40. This cost does not include an urn for the permanent placement of the cremains. Contact our office for a complete list of urns.  Some cemeteries require an urn vault for burial. 

*Cremains are returned from the crematory in a cardboard box, unless an urn has been selected.

Celebration Cremation Services
This service option is designed for families desiring the basic services associated with cremation.  Our charges include:  Basic Services of the funeral directors and staff, removal from place of death to our funeral home, sanitizing procedures,  Use of our funeral home for memorial visitation or staff & equipment for off-site memorial visitation. Celebration of Life service at our funeral home or off-site location, transportation to Hoosier Crematory, Akron, IN and Hoosier Crematory cremation fee and a minimum container required by Hoosier Crematory.  This does not include sales tax of $8.40. This cost does not include an urn for the permanent placement of the cremains. Contact our office for a complete list of urns.  Some cemeteries require an urn vault for burial.

Remembrance Cremation Service

This service option is designed for families desiring cremation, and would like to include a viewing/visitation for family and friends.  Our charges include:  Basic Services of the funeral directors and staff, removal from place of death to our funeral home, embalming, preparation of the body for viewing, use of our funeral home for visitation or staff & equipment for off-site visitation, a ceremony can follow the visitation, transportation to Hoosier Crematory, Akron, IN and Hoosier Crematory cremation fee. Hoosier crematory will require that the body arrive in a casket or alternative container. For a complete list please contact the funeral home.  This cost does not include an urn for the permanent placement of the cremains. Contact our office for a complete list of urns.  Some cemeteries require an urn vault for burial.

This service option is designed for families desiring cremation and would like to include one day of  viewing/visitation and a traditional funeral service the following day.  Our charges include:  Basic Services of the funeral directors and staff, removal from place of death to our funeral home, embalming, preparation of the body for viewing, use of our funeral home for visitation or staff & equipment for off-site visitation, a ceremony can follow the visitation, use of our funeral home for a funeral service the day following the visitation or staff & equipment for off-site funeral service, transportation to Hoosier Crematory, Akron, IN and Hoosier Crematory cremation fee. Hoosier crematory will require that the body arrive in a casket or alternative container. For a complete list please contact the funeral home.  This cost does not include an urn for the permanent placement of the cremains.
