Doris M. Monroe, 97, North Manchester, IN passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1:28 p.m. in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN.  She was born April 3, 1921 in Muskegon, MI to Sylvester & Irene (Mattox) Sunday.  On December 23, 1941 she married Burr Monroe.  He passed away in 1976.  Doris was a homemaker and a cook at Chester School, North Manchester, IN. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Bippus, IN.  She is survived by sons, Gary (Marsha) Monroe, North Manchester, IN and David (Bev) Monroe, Killgore, TX; sister Jean Pehr, Ludington, MI; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  One son and two grandchildren are deceased.  Family and friends may call Monday, April 23, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN.  Services will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN.  Pastor Larry Holderbaum will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.  For those who wish to honor the memory of Doris Monroe, memorial contributions may be made to Peabody Retirement Community Caring Circle, 400 W.
