Mary Rose (Harrison) Grist

Mary Rose Grist, 91, Wabash formerly of North Manchester, Indiana passed at 2:23 a.m. on February 3, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Wabash, Wabash, Indiana. The youngest of three children, Mary was born on December 18, 1926 to Jesse and Ella (Freshour) Harrison in Wabash County, Indiana.

On December 10, 1949 Mary married Irvin W. Grist. Irvin and Mary were married for 59 years before Irvin passed away on September 13, 2009. During their time together, Mary worked as a homemaker, caring for their four children. She was a member of the Ivy Chapter Order of Eastern Star .

The loving memory of Mary Rose Grist will be forever remembered by her son, Brent Matthew Grist, North Manchester, Indiana; three daughters, Cleo June Haxton, Peru, Indiana, Peggy G. (Herbert) Schaetzle, Bourbon, Indiana and Debra Jayne (Leroy) Wimmer, North Manchester, Indiana; three grandchildren, Crystal Haxton, Sean Haxton, and Addison Grist, two great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ella Harrison; one brother, George Harrison and one sister Marian Reisinger.

A private service at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, Indiana will be at a later date. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary.
