Bruce E Pottenger

Bruce E. Pottenger, 86, North Manchester, Indiana passed away at 12:20 p.m. on July 8, 2017 at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana. Bruce was born in Sidney, Indiana on December 11, 1930 to Glenn and Nellie (Speicher) Pottenger. He was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1949. On July 26, 1952 Bruce married Marilyn Wood. The two were married for nearly 65 years. Mr. Pottenger was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army from 1951 to 1959. He was also a member of the Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, Indiana and American Legion Post #286, North Manchester. Bruce enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling. Mr. Pottenger is survived by his wife Marilyn Pottenger, North Manchester, Indiana; two sons Jerry (Jean) Pottenger, North Manchester, Indiana and Jeff (RoseMarie) Pottenger, South Whitley, Indiana; one daughter Jane Lawson, Fort Wayne, Indiana; one sister Julia (Michael) Hayes, Columbia City, Indiana; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Nellie Pottenger. Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Services will begin on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior, at McKee Mortuary. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, Indiana. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
