David Gray

David Gray, 71, North Manchester passed away October 13, 2018 at 5:07 p.m. at his home. David was born September 24, 1947 in Huntington, Indiana to Ralph T.  and Lola M. (Runkle) Gray.

David graduated from Manchester High School in 1965. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. During his two tours of duty in Vietnam, he served as a Navy diver and later retired from the Navy after ten years as a machinist mate.  Following his honorable discharge from military service, he was a maintenance engineer and supervisor for various companies. David’s patriotism was further exhibited through his 23 year membership to the American Legion Post #402, Laketon, Indiana. He also attended the Christian Church at Liberty Mills.

On June 18, 1994, David married Sue Kester. As husband and wife, they were owners and operators of D&S R.V. and Marine Transport in North Manchester. They retired in 2007 after 13 years. In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and anything mechanical.

David will be remembered by his wife Sue Gray, North Manchester, Indiana; two daughters Shannon R. (Dick) Tracy, Wabash, Indiana and Heather (Tony) Spencer, Royal Center, Indiana; one son Matthew Gray, Logansport, Indiana; one sister Lora Emmerd, Mexico, Indiana; and five grandchildren Devin Tracy, Catherine Tracy, Eric Tracy, Ethan Spencer, and Jacob Spencer. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Services for David will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor JP Freeman will officiate and burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, Indiana.
