Drucilla (Bonewitz) Varney

Drucilla A. Varney, 58, Fairmount, Indiana passed at 3:52 a.m. on April 6, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. One of seven children, Drucilla was born on June 8, 1960 in Wabash, Indiana to G. Duane and Tomaline (Martin) Bonewitz.

On November 23, 1986 Drucilla married Truby G. Isaac. Truby passed away on April 21, 1998. Drucilla then married Ron Varney on April 27, 2001. He survives in Fairmount, Indiana. Cooking was a large part of Drucilla’s life. She worked as a cook for various restaurants for the last sixteen years and enjoyed baking cakes and decorating them. During the Christmas season, Drucilla loved having all the grandchildren over to help bake cookies. Her grandkids were her world. When Drucilla wasn’t cooking or baking, she enjoyed crocheting, word searches, shopping, watching the Hallmark Channel, cop shows, and cookouts with the family. Drucilla had a passion for Native American heritage including collecting dreamcatchers.

The memory of Drucilla A. Varney will be carried on by her husband, Ron Varney, Fairmount; four sons, Donald (Casie) Isaac, Upland, Indiana, James Cordill, Truby (Virginia) Isaac and Kalem Isaac all of Fowlerton, Indiana; one brother, Elmer (Barb) Bonewitz, North Manchester; four sisters, Monace Baker, Van Buren, Indiana, Tonie (John) Cave, North Manchester, Jannette Strasser, Escanaba, Michigan and Luetta (Bill) King, North Manchester; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Truby G. Isaac; and one brother Lyle L. Bonewitz.

Family and friends may call Friday, April 12, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Summitville United Methodist Church, 600 East Walnut Street, Summitville, Indiana 46070. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester at 2:00 p.m. on April 12, 2019. Pastor Dan Tucker will officiate.
