Grace E. Metzger

Grace E. Metzger, 91, North Manchester, Indiana died at 4:40 a.m. July 10, 2018 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.  She was born at North Manchester on November 25, 1926 to Lawrence & Mary (Frantz) Hoover.  Graduating from Laketon High School with the class of 1944, Grace farmed with her husband for 38 years.  She also worked for the Warsaw Soil and Water Conservation for 7 years retiring in 1989, where she started the auxiliary for the District of Kosciusko County.  She was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren and for many years taught Sunday School at Eel River Church of the Brethren.  Grace Hoover and Myron R. Metzger were married on August 26, 1950.  They shared over 50 years together before Myron's passing on May 4, 2002.  Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, David (Beth) Metzger, North Manchester, IN, Douglas (Heidi) Metzger, Goshen, IN, Duane (Pam) Metzger, Leesburg, IN.  A daughter, Diane (Linden) Williams, North Manchester, IN.  Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  A sister-in-law, Julia Hoover also survives.  Grace was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.  Services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana.  Friends and family may call on Friday, July 13 at Timbercrest Chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.  Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate and private burial will be at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN.  For those who wish to honor Grace's memory, contributions may be made to the Timbercrest Charitable Assistance Fund, PO Box 501, North Manchester, IN 46962.  The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary with final arrangements.
