Joyce L Stanton

Joyce L. Stanton, 79, North Manchester, Indiana passed away at 7:20 p.m. on December 31, 2017 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, Indiana. On August 21, 1938, Joyce was born to Earl D. and Evelyn J. (Moore) Clingaman on her family's farm in Macy, Indiana.

After graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1955, she married Daniel C. Stanton Sr.. The two were married for 46 years before Daniel passed away on July 20, 2002. During their time together, Joyce worked as a homemaker, making sure the children and home were in order. When Joyce wasn't taking care of the home, she relaxed by painting, crocheting, and writing poetry. For those who knew her, there was no mistaking the love she had for her family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Peru, Indiana. Everyone that knew her loved her.

The memory of Joyce L. Stanton is survived by four sons, Herbert E. Stanton, Kenneth R. Stanton, Daniel C. Stanton Jr., all of Claypool, Indiana, John B. Stanton, Kokomo, Indiana; four daughters Mary Jane (Edmund) Richards, Nancy (Roger) Hudson, both of Claypool, Indiana, Rebecca (John) Hetzner, North Manchester, Indiana and Sherie D. Hovenden, Warsaw, Indiana; one brother, Melvin (Judy) Clingaman, Roann, Indiana; one sister Diane ( George) Knappen, Denver, Indiana; one half sister, Marsha Harris, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Evelyn Clingaman; husband, Daniel C. Stanton Sr.; two daughters, Sandra L. Enyeart and Deborah J. Mefford; two grandchildren; one brother and one sister.

Family and friends may call Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at McKee Mortuary. Burial will be at Enterprise Cemetery, rural Roann, Indiana near Olive Branch Church of God, 4581 East 1200 North, Roann, Indiana (Miami County) . Brother Arthur Haas will officiate.
