Mabel M (Hippensteel) Coble

Mabel M. Coble, 96, departed this life on May 30, 2019 at 4:50 a.m. She was born February 7, 1923 in Wabash County, Indiana. She was the daughter of J. Calvin and Bessie (Kendall) Hippensteel. Mabel graduated from Chester High School in 1942. On September 22, 1943 Max E. Coble and Mabel were united in marriage in North Manchester. He preceded her in death January 6, 2013. They were married for 69 years. A lifetime resident of Wabash County until 2012, when she moved to Fort Wayne to be near her family. She devoted her life to family and friends and enjoyed quilting, flowers, crafts and birds. Surviving are two children; daughter, Diane (Dennis) Airgood, Fort Wayne, Indiana and son, Dan R. (Marlene) Coble, Angola, Indiana; a sister, Edith Jenkins, North Manchester, Indiana; five grandchildren; Danya Breeden, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Nia Airgood, Bonita Springs, Florida, Tricia Airgood, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Christopher Coble, Fort Wayne, Indiana and Kyle (Arianne) Coble, Auburn, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max E. Coble; brother, James Stewart “Stu” Hippensteel; sisters, Pauline Carter and an infant sister.

Family and friends may call Monday, June 3, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, County Road 300 East and County Road 1000 North, Servia, Indiana. Arrangements are entrusted to McKee Mortuary.
