Miss Hines was my third grade teacher at Maple Park in 1974- probably her first year there. I moved to Texas in 1977, where I’ve been ever since. I just stumbled across this post, and felt I had to try to express what fond memories I have of Miss Hines. She was so young and beautiful, idealistic and creative, empathetic and kind. I think she probably inspired many of us to dream of being teachers one day. I know it’s too late to expect anyone to see this message, but I hope you do, and I hope it brings back beautiful memories of a wonderful human being whose influence may have been even more widespread than you ever imagined.

I had Marcia as a student teacher many years ago. She left a lasting impression as a very caring and compassionate person. I hope her life was filled with many blessings.

I have known Marcia for many years going back to high school days at Manchester High when we graduated in 1967 together. We also rode back and forth to Ball State together on weekends during our Freshman year. Marcia was known for her classy appearance, her intellect, and her wonderful smile. I hadn't seen her for many years until fairly recently before she got sick. I'm so glad that she knew the Lord and served Him so well. She's now without pain and enjoying her reward. My sympathies to her brother Brent, to her husband and to her extended family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dear Homer, I just wanted to say that I offer my condolences on Marcia's passing from this life.. but, as you know, she has passed INTO the glorious kingdom of Light and the Presence of our dear Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. So our grief is tempered with HOPE. And so I also want to say THANKYOU for ALWAYS supporting our church, and our ministry and SO MANY OTHER churches and ministries. The Community Brreakfasts, any mission fundraiser we had, Fish Frye's, andy school function.. and for you two offering your lives in ministry to Jesus Christ. You REALLY modeled for all of us what Christian Marriage is all about. Michelle and I offer to you and yours then our prayers, our praises for what God used you as a couple to do, and our hopes for how God will watch over you, both now and in the days ahead. Sincerely Pastor JP & Michelle Freeman of the North Manchester, Indiana Congregational Chrsitian Church.

Miss Hines (as I knew her) was my all-time favorite teacher. I had her for 2nd grade at Laketon. She made learning fun & made each child feel special & gave me a love for school. I will always remember her smile & how she was always impeccably dressed. I have such find memories of her & what a special person she was. So sorry for your loss. She will be deeply missed but take comfort in knowing she touched so many & made a lasting impact in their lives.

This picture sums up my memory of Marcia exactly. She was always beautiful to look at and perfectly coordinately dressed. I used to admire her eyelashes so much that one day she took the time to teach me how to use an eyelash curler. She was an all around kind and generous person to everyone. I also remember when she first started dating her husband - she told me from the start that he was "the one". I wondered at the time how she could possibly know that but it turns out that she was right as usual...... RIP.

Mrs. Ousley was my first teacher. I will always remember her kind smile & her classic style. She always matched her shoes with her outfit. The things you remember when you are so young....
My deepest condolences for those who were lucky enough to be close to her.
