Thelma L. Beery

Thelma L. Beery, 96, Claypool, Indiana passed away January 5, 2019 at Sutter Lakeside Hospital, Lakeport, CA.  She was born at Darke County, Ohio on October 1, 1922 to Elmer & Ida May (Fritz) Drew.  On March 14, 1945 she married Dale B. Beery.  He passed away August 17, 2007.

Thelma attended Taylor University and received her nurses training at the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.  She also received her BA degree from Manchester College.  She was a registered nurse having been employed at McDonald Hospital, Murphy Medical Center, Mason Healthcare Center, all at Warsaw, Indiana and Grace Village at Winona Lake, Indiana.  For twelve years she was a nurse in the office of Dr. J.R. Baum at Warsaw.  She retired in 1995.  She was a member of Extension Homemakers of Kosciusko County and Claypool United Methodist Church.  She was active in United Methodist Women at both local and district levels.

Surviving Thelma are her children, Paul (Kathie) Beery, Claypool, IN; Douglas (MarLou) Beery, Larwill, IN; Leon (RoxAnne) Beery, Mentone, IN; Aseneth Wilson, Warsaw, IN and Marie Beery, Kelseyville, CA.  Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.  Her parents, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Friends and family may call at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.  Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 10:30 a.m. at Claypool United Methodist Church, 302 E. Section Street, Claypool, Indiana.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana.
