Anne M. Myers

Anne M. Myers, 82, of North Manchester, Indiana, died on October 16, 2025, at Timbercrest Senior Living Community. The cause was complications from Lymphoma, with which she was first diagnosed in 2016.

Anne was born on April 24, 1943, in Elgin, Illinois, to Richard and Irene (Winger) Myers. Many of Anne’s formative early years were spent in Elgin.

Anne was an active member of the Highland Ave Church of Brethren, where she served on several boards and commissions and sang in the choir. She was also employed by the Church of the Brethren Pension Plan at the Church’s Elgin headquarters. Anne was elected Annual Conference Secretary and served two five-year terms. Her last year serving as Secretary was in1997. As secretary, she was responsible for managing day-to-day conference functions, assisting with agendas, and serving as the primary contact for inquiries related to the conference.

When the youngest of her three children started college, Anne decided to finish her own education. She was accepted into the Frances Perkins Scholar Program for non-traditional age college students at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley Massachusetts. She graduated magna cum laude in 1987.

In 1990, Anne found her true calling when she became Development Director at Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester, Indiana. She remained in that position there until she retired in July of 2009. She was responsible for public relations and fundraising, helping to secure funding for the neighborhood homes, Crestwood and other capital projects.

She also immersed herself in life of the community. She served on the Town of North Manchester Park Board, eventually serving as its president and was instrumental in the construction of the Strauss-Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center. She also was the building manager of the Town Life Center for several years.

She joined the North Manchester Kiwanis Club becoming its first female president and served as its treasurer. She was most recently honored for 35 years of membership in the organization.

When Anne moved to North Manchester she became an active member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren, singing in the choir, helping stage youth musicals and serving on the church board and commissions. She was also a mentor to several girls in the congregation.

Anne loved attending NASCAR races and watching hockey. She was a season ticket holder of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Fort Wayne Comets and a Chicago Blackhawks fan. She played the cello and the piano. She baked the best desserts.

Anne will be fondly remembered by her three children, Bonnie Booth (Randy Shaw), Brian Booth (Amelia Finch) and Becky Laskowski (Joe) and their father Douglas Booth; by her eight grandchildren, Ben Shaw (Jessie), Ian Shaw (Gina), Alex Shaw (Robyn), Taylor Laskowski, Bailey Laskowski, Frances Godfrey (David), Anna Booth, Nicanor Booth; eight great-grandchildren, brothers Jim Myers, Gerald Myers, step-brothers Ted Noffsinger and Stan Noffsinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Russell Myers and her stepsister Joanne Noffsinger.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 23 at 1:30 pm at the Manchester Church of the Brethren in North Manchester, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Manchester Church of the Brethren and Timbercrest Senior Living Community restricted to Charitable Assistance.

The family of Anne M. Myers has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
