Fort Wayne

Arden Ray Boocher, 70, Fort Wayne, formerly of North Manchester, passed away on October 23, 2024. Born on July 1, 1954, in Wabash, to Max E. and Doris T. (Niccum) Boocher, Arden’s journey through life was marked by kindness, humor, work ethic, and a remarkable dedication to his family.

Arden dedicated thirty-six years of his life to Wayne Pipe and Supply, Inc., where his commitment and hard work led him to the position of Vice President before his retirement in 2022. His dedication extended beyond his professional life as he devoted over twenty-eight years to the care of Pleasant Hill Cemetery, ensuring it remained a place of beauty and remembrance for the community. Additionally, he volunteered for several years with the Chester Township Fire Department in the 1980s, exemplifying his spirit of service and commitment to helping others.

An alumnus of Manchester High School, Arden graduated in 1972. His remarkable intellect was matched only by his great sense of humor, which could light up any room. Known for his uncanny ability to solve problems, he approached challenges with a strong work ethic and fearless determination. Arden's meticulous attention to detail was evident in his woodworking projects, where he created beautiful bedroom sets, cribs for his cherished grandchildren, and various pieces of furniture.

Family was of utmost importance to Arden. He took immense pride in his sons, and this pride blossomed further with the joy of being a grandfather. His emotional strength and kind-hearted nature allowed him to face adversity head-on. An enthusiast of life’s simple pleasures, Arden found tranquility in puzzles, relished playing Free Cell, and experienced delight in mowing lawns, all while savoring the sweetness of chocolate and jelly beans.

The loving memory of Arden Boocher will be forever cherished by his wife, Carol Boocher, Fort Wayne; sons, Ashton (Jayme) Boocher, Noblesville and Andon (Pam) Boocher, Alexandria; bonus sons, Andrew (Lily) Lundquist, High Point, North Carolina and Austin (Allyson) Lundquist, Fort Wayne; brother, Allan (Rosalyn) Boocher, South Whitley; sisters, Judy (Dennis) Cripe, North Manchester and Beverly (Mike) Rice, Warsaw; grandchildren, Jamison Boocher, Ansen Boocher, Silas Boocher, Cadley Boocher, Campbell Boocher, Adelyn Lundquist, Ava Lundquist, and Reilley Patterson.
