Barbara "Bobbi" Jo Frye King

January 17, 1953 — March 15, 2026

Barbara "Bobbi" Jo (Weitzel) Frye King, 73, formerly of North Manchester passed away peacefully Sunday, March 15th. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, with family by her side holding her hand.

She was born January 17, 1953, in Wabash, IN to Rex and Colleen Weitzel. After the tragic loss of dad Rex at the tender young age of 9, she was gifted a wonderful bonus dad when her mom married Arden Metzger.

She was raised on a farm. She treasured her time and memories at her family's pond where she enjoyed fishing. She lived in North Manchester for the first part of life where she worked at Heckman Bindery and Bay State Abrasives. She would also take on second and third jobs working hard to provide for her family.

On July 24, 1992, Bobbi married Roy W. King who passed away on December 15, 2013. Together they made their home in Freetown, Indiana. She continued her strong work ethics and took pride in doing quality work. She worked for many years at Pretium Packaging in Seymour, IN where she retired.

She wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She was always willing to take on any challenge and help no matter the job. She had a special talent for refinishing furniture and found joy in bringing new life to old pieces. She loved her antiques and going to rummage sales to see what treasures she might find. She enjoyed mowing. She worked hard in her garden and loved baking zucchini bread for friends, family and coworkers. She loved nature and peace she felt from it. She often referred to being outside as her church knowing it was God's creation. She enjoyed mushroom hunting in the woods. She enjoyed feeding the birds and sitting on her deck. When inside, she enjoyed watching her shows on TV, doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.

Bobbi was social and loved laughing with others. She enjoyed helping others and being with her friends especially her longtime friend and neighbor Joni Cockerham. If not visiting together, they were always talking on the phone, often several times a day especially after they widowed. If you knew her well, you knew she loved her Diet Coke and chocolate. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and loved to spoil them whenever she had the chance. She was incredibly proud of each of their accomplishments.
