Betty Irene Cook

Apr 16, 1944 — Sep 12, 2026

North Manchester, Indiana

Betty Irene Cook, of North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. She was born on April 16, 1944, in Rock Island, Oklahoma, to Claud Edward and Ruby Mae (Hastings) Williams. As a child, Betty moved often with her family because of her father’s work as a civil servant.

On October 27, 1962, Betty married Randall “Randy” Cook. The two were introduced by a future brother-in-law while Randy was serving in the United States Marine Corps. Together, Betty and Randy shared nearly 64 years of marriage. Following Randy’s military service, they moved to Wabash, Indiana, and later settled in North Manchester, where Betty devoted herself to her family as a homemaker, always ensuring her loved ones were well cared for. Though Indiana became her home, she held a deep and lasting love for the Williams family in Oklahoma. Her steady, nurturing presence was a foundation of the life she shared with her family.

As a grandmother, Betty loved her grandchildren deeply—and loved spoiling them even more. She found great joy in giving to them and making sure they knew how much they were loved. Betty also had a soft spot for animals, especially the cats and dogs she loved throughout her life. She was known to feed stray cats and enjoyed feeding the birds around her home.

Faith remained an important part of Betty’s life. She attended Faith Baptist Church in North Manchester, where her beliefs were a meaningful and lasting part of who she was.

The loving memory of Betty Cook will be forever cherished by her husband, Randall “Randy” Cook, North Manchester; sons, Jeffery (Rachel) Cook, Laketon, and Gregory (Kerri) Cook, Warsaw; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cleland, Emily (Rhett) Shepherd, Summer (Corbin) Holtsberry, Kylie Bibler, Blake Bibler, and Nolan Cook; three great-grandchildren, Luke Cleland, Hallie Cleland, and Lainey Holtsberry; sisters, JoAnn (Arvin) Kuykendall, Pocola, Oklahoma, and Carol (Danny) Campbell, Oklahoma; and brother, Mack Williams, Pocola, Oklahoma.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, George Edward Williams, Donald Gene Williams, Francis Jane Lankford, Reva Joyce Pearson, Nancy Lu Curry, Eva Ruth Wallis, and Edyth Lynn Foster.
