Billy Poe, born on April 27, 1947, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Henderson and Garnett (Morrison) Poe, passed away at his home on September 30, 2025. He lived a life marked by quiet diligence and a strong work ethic, dedicating many years to the hard work of factory labor. Billy’s career spanned various roles, with significant time spent at Kimble Glass and Uniroyal.
A man of few words, Bill was characterized by his reserved nature. Despite his quiet demeanor, he found joy and comfort in the company of his beloved dog, Sadie. He cherished the time spent camping with his son, Billie, before his son’s passing. In addition to these treasured moments, Bill enjoyed fishing and had a deep passion for muscle cars, activities that reflected his love for the outdoors and a simple yet fulfilling life.
Bill proudly served in the United States Army, an experience that contributed to the depth of his character. His service is a testament to his dedication to his country, and it shaped his perspectives throughout his life.
The loving memory of Billy Poe will be forever cherished by his son, Justin Lee (Jordan) Poe, Peru; sister, Connie Pamer, Hendersonville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kelsea (Caleb Cornett) Poe, Kaedence Crisler, Kingslei Crisler, Janiyah Crisler, Felix Poe, and Giovanni Poe; and great-grandchildren, Damon and Amis Cornett. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Rick Poe, Carl Wade Poe, and Frank Poe.
A private graveside will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana.
The family of Billy Poe has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
