Cherokee Dorinda Sizemore

May 20, 1981 — October 16, 2025

Silver Lake, Indiana

Cherokee Dorinda Rose Sizemore of Silver Lake, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 16, 2025.

Born on May 20, 1981, in Huntington, West Virginia, Cherokee was the youngest daughter of the late Roddie Sizemore and Phyllis Ann (Blankenship) Sizemore.

Cherokee was a 1999 graduate of Manchester High School where she enjoyed singing and performing in choir. After that, she attended Ivy Tech.

She grew up surrounded by a large and deeply connected family. Known as “Sis” to most everyone who loved her, Cherokee had a fierce spirit and a heart that ran deep.

She was the mother to her and the deceased Jeff Lester’s beloved son, Adian Sizemore of Silver Lake, IN.

Cherokee is survived by her siblings: Robin Sizemore of Warsaw, IN; Drema (Barry) Drudge of North Manchester, IN; and Roderick Sizemore of Silver Lake, IN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tammy (Sizemore) Stanley of Wabash, IN.

She also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Jessica Stanley, Megan Cooper, Mia Drudge, Rosenea (Jay) Evans, Broderick Sizemore, Christina (Bronson) Albaugh, and Zackery Drudge.

She also had twelve great-nieces and great-nephews: Autumn Stanley, Gregory Cooper, Phoebe Cooper, Destiny Evans, Riley Evans, Damien Albaugh, Darren Sizemore, Darien Sizemore, and Alexander Drudge, Anaya Jackson, Opal Cooper, and Ruby Cooper, with two more little ones on the way, joyfully awaited by Autumn Stanley and Destiny Evans.

She filled her days with drawing, singing, writing poetry, and cooking.

She once broke a gender stereotype by playing the lead role of Charlie in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in elementary school, making her family proud of her performance.

She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Cherokee will be cremated. A private remembrance will be held by the family, with no public service planned at this time.

The family of Cherokee Sizemore has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
