Cheryl Ann Gohman

Cheryl Ann Gohman, 82, North Manchester, passed away on September 12, 2026, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born on March 19, 1944, in Wabash, Indiana, to Ralph and Anneadele “Ann” (Rager) McFarland. Cheryl lived a life marked by faith, service, talent, and kindness.

Cheryl graduated from Manchester High School in 1962 and went on to build a career that reflected both hard work and dedication to her community. She began working at Heckman Bindery and later became a truck driver. In time, she entered public service in North Manchester, serving first as Deputy Clerk Treasurer and later as the town judge, eventually retiring in 2006. In her role as judge, Cheryl was widely known for being fair, a quality that left a lasting impression on those she served.

On May 4, 1989, Cheryl married Charles William “C.W.” Gohman. Together they joined their children and became one family. Her family life was deeply connected to her faith, and she was a devoted member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Claypool, Indiana. Cheryl was a woman of strong faith who shared with others both her belief in Jesus and the importance of kindness.

Music and creativity were also central parts of Cheryl’s life. When she and her children were younger, they would go to different places singing gospel hymns. She was a talented woman whose gifts included painting, singing, and playing the piano. Cheryl generously shared those talents with others and especially instilled a love of music in her son, Barry.

The loving memory of Cheryl Gohman will be forever cherished by her husband, Charles William “C.W.” Gohman, North Manchester; children, Barry (Drema) Drudge, Danielle (Shawn) Bishop, both of North Manchester, Charles Scott (Andrea Campanile) Gohman, Palo Alto, California, Janis Gohman, Anaheim, California, and Candice (John) Besser, Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Danny McFarland, North Manchester and Ted (Terri) McFarland, Elkhart; sister, Patti Prasad, Los Angeles, California; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Jan Chalfant.

Cheryl’s family will have a memorial service at a future date.
