Christine Vivian Good

Jun 7, 1945 — Sep 4, 2026

North Manchester, Indiana

Christine Vivian Good, lovingly known as Vivian, passed away on September 4, 2026, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on June 7, 1945, in Peru, Indiana, to Basil Edward and Dorothy (Prickett) Adkins.

Vivian graduated from Wabash High School in 1963 and then continued her education at Ravenscroft Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She built a long and faithful working life, spending more than forty years with Heckman Bindery in North Manchester. She stepped away briefly when she had Ryan and Tami, then returned to the company she knew so well. Over the years, she worked in nearly every job they had before moving into a supervisor role. Even after retirement, Vivian continued to work there part time, a reflection of her strong work ethic and deep connection to the people and place that had been such a meaningful part of her life.

On January 29, 1965, Vivian married Roland Richard Good. Their marriage was a lasting and devoted partnership that spanned nearly fifty-nine years, until Richard’s passing on December 6, 2023. Family was at the very center of Vivian’s life. She was a proud mother to her three children and a proud grandma, and she showed her love in ways both tender and unforgettable. She gave each of her children the book Love You Forever, a simple but lasting expression of the depth of her love for them. Her life was one of devotion—to her family, to her work, to her faith, and to the people around her.

Vivian will be remembered for her joyful spirit. She loved to laugh and was always happy. She was a sweet lady who would drop anything to help anyone, and that kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Earlier in her life, she attended Congregational Christian Church, and in the last year she attended the First Brethren Church in North Manchester.

The loving memory of Vivian Good will be forever cherished by her children, Tori (Mike) Benton, Middlebury, Ryan (Aissa) Good, West Lafayette, and Tami (John) Chilcote, Markle; grandchildren, Levi Benton, Jade (Nick) Eubank, Blaine Slayton, Brecken Good, and Carli Butt. Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Basil Adkins; mother, Dorothy Felabom; husband, Richard Good; and brothers, Charles Eldon Adkins, Aden Basil Adkins, and John “Ames” Adkins.
