George Pfeiffer, 95, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on March 3, 2026 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. Surviving is his wife, Joan; daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Aikins, Karen (John) Kestler, and Lorie (Tom) Shiveley; grandchildren, Michelle, James, Emily, Daniel, Bradley, Ann Marie, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Steven; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Rev. Robert Pfeiffer, Joseph Pfeiffer, and Edward Pfeiffer.
George was preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Elizabeth (Barta) Pfeiffer; daughter, Deborah Jones; sisters, Elizabeth Pfeiffer, Rose Mary Pfeiffer, and Jane Ann Schnuur; and brothers, John and Jacob Pfeiffer.
He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in North Manchester. George was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was presented with the “Man of the Year” awarded by JC of C for starting an organization called INFORMATION, made to educate people on evils of Communism.
He served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War, earning the rank of Airman First Class.
George retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1985, where he was Manager of Product Assurance for the Engine Plant. After retiring, he worked as a consultant, developing quality systems. George spent many years in the lumber and hardware business, finally retiring in 2009. In 2018 George and his wife, Joan moved to North Manchester.
Family and friends may call Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 1203 State Road 114 East, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral mass will begin at the conclusion of calling with Father Daniel Koehl and Father Robert Pfeiffer officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana, at a later date.
