North Manchester

JD Aughinbaugh, 77, North Manchester, passed away on June 25, 2024, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. JD, born in Fort Wayne on August 19, 1946, to Frank and Freida (Sailors) Aughinbaugh, lived a life filled with love, kindness, and laughter that touched the lives of many.

Graduating from Silver Lake High School in 1965, JD was a true country soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. On June 14, 1969, JD married Delores Geiser, together they were blessed with three children, Rodney, Rhonda and Rachelle. JD's journey through life was one of dedication and passion. For forty-two years, he delivered Little Debbie snacks, and his love for farming shone through in every aspect of his life.

His generous spirit and kind heart endeared him to all who knew him. A member of the Izaak Walton League in North Manchester, for a short time, JD cherished the community and participated eagerly in events like the Turkey Shoot. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need and his compassion for the underdogs, JD's legacy of empathy will continue to inspire.

JD was a storyteller at heart, always ready to share a good tale and captivate his audience with his big laugh that echoed throughout the room. He was a man of integrity, often choosing the road less traveled, and his vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

A lover of the outdoors, JD enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and the thrill of seeking out a good bargain at an auction, always living life to the fullest. JD and his wife Delores attended Warsaw Community Church, while his health allowed him.

The loving memory of JD Aughinbaugh will be forever cherished by his wife of fifty-five years, Delores Aughinbaugh, North Manchester; children, Rodney Aughinbaugh, Rachelle Aughinbaugh, both of North Manchester, and Rhonda (Troy) Custer, Silver Lake; five grandchildren, Damien (Allie P.)
