Jeffry Blocher, 74, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on May 6, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jeff was born September 22, 1951, in Marion, Indiana, to Walter E. and Jerra Lee (Burkart) Blocher.
After graduating from Manchester High School in 1969, Jeff married Carolyn Fritze in 1970, and though their marriage ultimately did not endure, they were blessed with two children. In 1970 Jeff enlisted in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, Jeff established himself in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he embarked on a career that blended his professional skills with his personal passions. He found his calling both as a radio disc jockey and later in sales with Recon, selling transmissions to various companies.
Eventually returning to North Manchester, Jeff applied his skills in several workplaces before settling into a decade-long role in transportation at Timbercrest. Jeff was a compassionate caregiver to his parents, embodying kindness and selflessness in his family responsibilities. He also shared a special bond with his nephew, Brandon.
A man of varied interests, Jeff was a former member of the Moose Lodge 1518 in North Manchester. He enjoyed playing golf, a pastime he cherished until his health began to decline. Family and friends fondly remember him for his skill at euchre, his enthusiasm for NASCAR, his role as an announcer at Keystone Raceways motocross events, and a passionate supporter of Pittsburgh sports teams. Jeff lived his life fully—sometimes carefree in his earlier years, always embracing the moment with joy and contentment.
The loving memory of Jeff Blocher will be forever cherished by his son, Ryan Lewis Blocher, Clairton, Pennsylvania; daughter, Kari-Anne (Brian) Innes, New Castle, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; brothers, Joe Alan (Jill) Blocher, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Jan Lewis (Nancy) Blocher, North Manchester; sister, Tena (Byron “Buddy”) Brunn, North Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.
