Joann Miller, 86, North Manchester, passed away on January 25, 2026, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. Born on April 23, 1939, in Wabash, Indiana, to George W. “Bud” and Beulah Irene “Duke” (Gill) Clark, Joann's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Joann graduated from Central High School in 1957, laying the foundation for a life filled with hard work and commitment. On June 7, 1959, she married Wayne Miller, who was a cherished husband in her life until his passing on July 30, 2025. Together, they shared a loving bond that resonated through their family and friendships. Joann's gentle and giving personality allowed her to forge many lasting friendships throughout her lifetime.

Her professional journey started at Peabody Retirement Community for two years, before going to Heckman Bindery, where she worked from 1957 to 1975. Joann and her brother Max, embarked as co-owners and operators of Clark’s Log Cabin Restaurant and the Root Beer Barrel, continuing the family business, started by her parents. Joann's commitment to her roles exemplified her strong work ethic and compassion for others.

The loving memory of Joann Miller will be forever cherished by her sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Reed, Akron and Ruth Ann Kline, North Manchester; brother-in-law, Paul Miller, North Manchester; several nieces and nephews; and the friends she made over the years. Joann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Miller; brothers, Harold “Sparky” Clark, Max Clark, and her twin, Joe Clark; brothers-in-law, Jack H. Miller, Dick Lee Miller, Michael Reed, and Paul Kline.

The family of Joann Miller will grieve privately. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, Indiana.

The family of Joann Miller has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
