Lowell J. Stout

Jan 12, 1947 — Aug 12, 2026

Liberty Mills, Indiana

Lowell J. Stout, born on January 12, 1947, in Avery County, North Carolina, to Lincoln “Link” and Flossie (Greene) Stout, passed away at his home in Liberty Mills, Indiana, on August 12, 2026.

Lowell was a man marked by resilience, honesty, and a steadfast dedication both to the people around him and to his own principles. He was a man of many talents, trying his hand at nearly everything life had to offer. Among his many pursuits, Lowell's longest professional tenure was at Singer Controls in North Manchester.

On January 25, 1976, Lowell married Julene Adams. Their marriage endured for over four decades until Julene's passing on August 16, 2019.

Lowell's character was genuinely unique. He was known as a friendly, one-of-a-kind individual who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. If someone needed assistance, he was the neighbor or friend they turned to—helpful, reliable, and generous. His honesty was a guiding principle; his toughness was matched only by his resourceful, crafty nature, especially when it came to fixing things.

Lowell also served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam, a period that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and courage.

The loving memory of Lowell J. Stout will be forever cherished by his children, Braxton (Dasia Prater) Stout, Warsaw, Kenneth Ray Stout, Liberty Mills, Paul (Rachel) Adams, Warsaw, and Steve (Gina) Stout, Warner Robins, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Julene Stout; and brothers, Ronald, Darrell, Roger, and Ralph Stout.
