Marcella June Bechtold

Marcella June Bechtold, age 82, of North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the Peabody Healthcare Center. Born on July 2, 1943, in Huntington, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Viola (Davison) Hubley.

After graduating from Huntington High School in 1961, she pursued a variety of jobs, including positions at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), Peabody Retirement Community, and as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her last place of employment was at Singer Controls, where she retired after many years of service.

On October 22, 1965, Marcella married Harry Thomas Bechtold, and together they created a loving home, blessed with three children. A dedicated homemaker, Marcella's life was filled with various roles and responsibilities that showcased her strong work ethic and caring nature. Marcella was deeply involved in her family's life, assisting Harry on the farm by driving tractors and ensuring their household ran smoothly. Her passion for gardening and canning allowed her to share her cooking talents. Marcella possessed remarkable creativity. She was an accomplished crafter, known for her beautiful quilts and clothing, as well as her skills in woodworking.

A woman with a big heart, Marcella valued her relationships and enjoyed spending time with family members. She was a member of the Busy Mother's Club and the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. For several years, she also served as the church secretary at the Congregational Christian Church, where she attended church.

The loving memory of Marcella Bechtold will be forever cherished by her husband, Harry T. Bechtold, North Manchester; children, Jennifer (Ron) Hawk, Claypool, Stephanie (Ron) Judy, North Manchester and Matt (Katrina) Bechtold, North Manchester; brother, David (Judy) Hubley, Fort Wayne; sister, Janet (Bob) Coy, Missiouri; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Loretta Hethcote; and grandson, Sean L. Judy.

Family and friends may call Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Servia, Indiana.
