Mary Ann Tucker Kreider, 93, passed away at her home in Farmersburg, Indiana, on October 10, 2025. Born on June 18, 1932, in Silver Lake, Indiana, to W. Lowell and Ruby P. (Ulrey) Tucker, Mary Ann lived a life full of dedication to her faith and family.
Mary Ann graduated from Sidney High School in 1950 and in the following year on March 25, 1951, she married Kenneth Keith Kreider, with whom she shared a loving partnership and together they raised three children. Throughout the years, Mary Ann and Keith built cherished memories as they explored the great outdoors enjoying camping and traveling as a family.
In addition to her role as a devoted mother and wife, Mary Ann was an integral part of the Carmel-Clay School System, where she worked in the cafeterias from 1965 until her retirement in 1987. Her dedication to her work and the children she served was greatly admired by those who knew her.
Mary Ann's passions extended beyond her professional life. She took immense joy in cooking, sewing, and doing cross-stitch. An avid reader, she cherished quiet moments reading her Bible and Dr. David Jeremiah books. Mary Ann had a big heart when it came to listening and offering advice to her family. She prayed for everyone in her family to have a happy life just as she had.
A steadfast member of the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church for many years, Mary Ann remained active in her faith community until she moved to Farmersburg in 2014, where she joined the Farmersburg Methodist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she looked forward to being with the Lord at the end of her time on earth.
The loving memory of Mary Ann Tucker Kreider will be forever cherished by her children Pamela K. (John) Vawter, Farmersburg, Kevin L. (Rosanna) Kreider, Fishers, and Debra A. (Joe) Burton, Farmersburg; grandchildren, Jennifer (Clay) Hicks, Cortney (Jed) Rockwood, and Colin Kreider; six great-grandchildren, brother, Leon Tucker, Warsaw; sisters, Maxine Chalk Rhoades, North Manchester, Merdena Lister, Warsaw, and Melody (Jerry) Walther, Silver Lake. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Kreider; brother, Leonard Tucker; sister, Marlene Tucker; and grandson, Chris Stevens.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 11:00 to 1:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Greg Bradford officiating. Burial will be held at Eel River/Ulrey Memorial Cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana.
