Michael G. Briscoe, known as “Mike,” passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on March 18, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles G. and Margaret “Peggy” (McNamara) Briscoe, Mike lived a life marked by dedication, quiet strength, and love for those around him.
Mike’s formative years were spent in St. Louis, where he graduated from Riverview Gardens High School. Driven by a strong sense of service, he enlisted in the United States Navy shortly after graduation. The training and experience Mike gained during his time in the military not only shaped his character but also provided a foundation for his subsequent career.
Following his honorable service, Mike began working at General Motors in St. Louis, where he displayed the diligence and commitment that became hallmarks of his professional life. Eventually, he was transferred to the company’s Fort Wayne branch, where he continued to contribute his skills and expertise.
Earlier in his life, Mike married Marianne (Miller) Poston. Though that chapter of his life came to a close, Mike later found enduring companionship with Michele Browder, with whom he shared his life since 2004.
Mike will be remembered for his intelligence and his unassuming, quiet nature. He was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge 1518, and American Legion Post 286. Mike will also be remembered for the care and loved he had for all animals.
The loving memory of Michael “Mike” Briscoe will be forever cherished by his companion of over twenty years, Michele Browder, North Manchester; stand-in father, Angela Hardesty, Cody Hardesty, both of North Manchester; stepchildren, Ian (Candy) Poston and Seth (Emily) Poston, both of North Manchester; six grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law, Skip Wollenberg, and Ronald Zimmerman, both of St. Louis, Missouri. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Jenet Zimmerman and Ellen M. Wollenberg.
