Nancy (West) Coble, 89, born October 25, 1935 at home in North Manchester, to Glenn and Mayme (Clark) West, passed away August 14, 2025 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana.
Throughout her high school years, Nancy cultivated a strong work ethic, contributing her talents at Peabody Senior Living and Landis Drug Store. After graduating from Central High School in 1953, she began her career at General Telephone Company. However, after five years, she chose to dedicate herself to her family as a stay-at-home mother. After her time at home, Nancy began at the News Journal and Manchester Tool and Die, then went back to Peabody as a part time receptionist and retired in 2007. Nancy was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, Nancy also held membership in Ivy Chapter #69 Order of Eastern Star.
On June 25, 1954, Nancy married Herbert H. Coble, and together they embraced the joys of parenthood with their two daughters, Karen and Laura. Herbert passed away on April 26, 2014. After sixty years of marriage, Nancy was forced to find a new normal in life.
The loving memory of Nancy Coble will be forever cherished with her daughters, Karen Ann Reffitt, Columbia City and Laura L. Ross, North Manchester; grandchildren, Steven (Heaven) Westafer, Larwill, Jason Ross, South Whitley, James Ross, South Whitley, Jordan (Audrey Fox) Ross, North Manchester, and Billy Joe Reffitt, Columbia City; great-grandchildren, Hannah Westafer, Fort Wayne, Ariel Ross, Sidney, Erin, Emma, and Ezra Ross, North Manchester, Mason Westafer, Columbia City, and Aaron (Bayley) Isbell, Fort Wayne; great-great-grandchild due in December; brother, Terry (Edith) West, Warsaw; and sister, Sonda Coble, North Manchester. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Coble; brothers, Danny, Donny, Bobby, and Dickie West; and great-granddaughter, Morgan Ross.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the South Whitley Cemetery in South Whitley, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
