Pastor Lorren Bradley, a devoted servant of faith and a respected leader in his community, passed away peacefully at his home in Silver Lake, Indiana, on May 31, 2026. Born on May 3, 1941, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Jake and Phoebe (Hyden) Bradley Sr., Lorren's life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his calling.
In 1967, Lorren made the Silver Lake area his home, soon after which he met and married Ruby Shepherd on November 27, 1969. Together, they were blessed with three children, forming a family grounded in love, faith, and simplicity. Lorren cherished the simple joys of life and found richness in these everyday moments. He embraced the role of teacher within his family, imparting lessons about God, faith, and the unbreakable bonds of family with a heart full of love and patience.
Lorren's career spanned nearly six decades at Par-Kan Company in Silver Lake, where he served as Plant Manager until his retirement in 2006. However, his most profound impact was felt in his spiritual shepherding. For forty years, he led the First Freewill Baptist Church of Silver Lake as pastor, lovingly guiding his congregation and taking deep pride in leading people to Jesus. His ministry was defined by action and compassion, always putting others before himself, exemplifying the virtues he held dear.
Known for his good and clean sense of humor, Lorren expressed his affection through lighthearted pestering, a testament to the warmth and unconditional love he extended to all. His commitment to family was unwavering; he ensured that his wife Ruby was celebrated on birthdays and Mother's Day with love and care.
An avid outdoorsman, Lorren found joy in tending to his flowers and garden, fishing, as well as squirrel and coon hunting. He was a proud member of the Coon Hunter Association in Silver Lake, hobbies that kept him connected to nature and the community he loved.
Pastor Lorren Bradley will be remembered as a man of faith, action, and kindness—a pillar of his community and a loving husband and father. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion and grace, having touched many lives with his generosity and spirit.
