Paul Blanton, a devoted husband and hardworking man, passed away at his home in North Manchester, Indiana on April 23, 2026. Born on April 2, 1948, in Oil Springs, Kentucky, to Glen and Virginia (LeMaster) Blanton, Paul lived a life defined by dedication and kindness.
Throughout his career, Paul exemplified honesty and perseverance. He worked diligently for eighteen years at Peabody Seating Company before beginning a remarkable thirty-year tenure at Spartech Plastics, retiring in 2014. His commitment to providing for his family was unwavering and stood as a testament to his character.
Central to Paul's life was his beloved wife, Rosalie, whom he married on January 31, 1969. Rosalie was the light of his life, and her passing on March 8, 2019, left a profound void in his heart. Paul's love and devotion endured every day after her passing, as he found solace in daily visits to her resting place.
Paul was a man of simple pleasures and quiet strength. He found joy in fishing and gardening, passions he pursued with patience and care. His kindness extended to others, as he was known to generously share his gardening knowledge and lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Though he was a man of few words, his gentle spirit spoke volumes. Paul was a member of the American Legion Post 286 in North Manchester. He enjoyed going to breakfast every morning, especially at American Legion Sunset Post 402 in Laketon and bringing back his dog the leftovers.
The loving memory of Paul Blanton will be forever cherished by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rachel and Lonnie Harmon, North Manchester; daughter, Bonita Schmidt, North Manchester; many nieces and nephews; his friends at the American Legion; his caring neighbors; and his dog, Chrissy. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosalie (Prater) Blanton; brother, Bobbie Blanton; sisters, Betty Conley, Carmaleeta Bailey, and Sylvia Whitaker; and nephews, Lester and Roger Conley.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life at a graveside service on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.
For those who wish to honor the memory of Paul Blanton, memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash County Animal Shelter, 810 Manchester Ave., Wabash, Indiana 46992.
The family of Paul Blanton has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
