Richard L. Herendeen, 65, Silver Lake, IN died at 12:57 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012 at Parkview Regional Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born at Silver Lake, IN on May 8, 1947 to Gordon & Lillie (Hamilton) Herendeen. He worked at Gatke Corp. in Warsaw, IN for over 20 years and later for Pinkerton Security Co., Ft. Wayne, IN for 5 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Silver Lake High School, a United States Army veteran and member of the American Legion. Surviving is a sister, Linda (Roger) Hamilton, Silver Lake, IN; a brother, Larry (Peggy) Herendeen, North Manchester, IN; 3 nieces and 2 nephews. His parents and a brother, Tommy Herendeen are deceased. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, IN. Pastor Gage Norem will officiate. There will be no calling hours. McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN is handling the arrangements.
