Ronald DeWayne Wiley

Ronald DeWayne Wiley, 87, Urbana, passed away on June 17, 2026, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. Born on February 8, 1939, in Huntington, Indiana, to Garl and Opal (Forrester) Wiley, Ronald’s life was marked by a steadfast dedication to the land and a profound appreciation for the simple, treasured moments that life has to offer.

Ronald was in the last class that graduated from Chester High School in 1957. Following high school, Ronald spent eight years in the National Guard. On December 7, 1957 Ronald married Bonnie Gardner. The two spent sixty-three years of marriage together before Bonnie passed away on July 21, 2021. During their time together, they were blessed with four children, Debra, Edward, Mark and Bob. Family was paramount in Ronald’s life. He took great delight in spending time with his loved ones, who remember him fondly as a caring grandfather and great-grandfather. Though he was a reserved man, the warmth with which he engaged with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remain a lasting testament to his character.

Ronald embraced the calling of farming with a quiet passion, seeing it not just as an occupation but as a way of life. His daily routine brought him contentment and fulfillment, as he found joy in the routine and rhythm of working the land. While he preferred a private life, those who knew him understood that his heart was fullest when surrounded by family.

The loving memory of Ronald Wiley will be forever cherished by his children, Debra (Don) Troxel, South Bend, Edward (Joyce) Wiley, Warsaw, Mark Wiley, Urbana, and Bob (Pam) Wiley, North Manchester; sister, Patricia Floor, Cedar City, Utah; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie Wiley; brother, Alvin Wiley; sister, Bonnie Ritenour; and daughter-in-law, Janice Wiley.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Servia, Indiana, with Pastor David Sullivan officiating.

The family of Ronald Wiley has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
