Ruby Jean McQuillen King

May 12, 1948 — May 3, 2026

Warsaw, Indiana formerly of North Manchester, Indiana

Ruby Jean McQuillen King, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on May 3, 2026, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on May 12, 1948, in Cedar Grove, West Virginia, to Harold “Hap” and Minnie “Evalee” (Jarrell) McQuillen, Ruby's life was marked by kindness, dedication, and an enduring love for her family.

On February 8, 1969, Ruby married Terry L. King. Their marriage was a significant part of her life until his passing on July 7, 1992. Ruby’s love and devotion extended deeply into her family, which meant the world to her — she treasured the close-knit bonds of days gone by when families gathered regularly. Known affectionately as the neighborhood mom while her children were young, and even now, many still call her mom, a testament to the nurturing spirit she emanated.

Throughout her career, Ruby devoted herself to roles that were centered on helping others. Most recently, she contributed her skills as a medical records specialist at Bowen Health, where she worked until her retirement in June 2022.

Ruby’s personality was as vibrant as it was straightforward; she was never shy about expressing her thoughts and cared deeply for those around her. She took joy in small pleasures such as engaging with friends and family on Facebook, watching her favorite television shows NCIS and Days of Our Lives, playing Bingo, and admiring hummingbirds. These simple delights brought light to her days.

The loving memory of Ruby Jean McQuillen King will be forever cherished by her daughters, Terri (Craig) Mullins, Warsaw, Stephani Warner, Indianapolis, and Angell (David) Clough, Marion; grandchildren, Blaine King, Warsaw, Cody Warner, Indianapolis, Haru Warner, Indianapolis, Joshua (Courtney) Kissinger, Fort Wayne, Jeanell (Cody) Murley, Garrett, and Jordan Clough, Marion; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Cody Jr., King, Caleigh, Apollo, Winona, and Aurora; brothers, Tracy McQuillen, Orrville, Ohio and Herb McQuillen, Charleston, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her father, Harold “Hap” McQuillen; mother, Minnie “Evalee” Trail; and brother, Charles “Dick” McQuillen.

Family and friends may call Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A celebration of Ruby’s life will begin at the conclusion of calling.
