Spencer L. Lovelady, born on February 13, 1945, in Town Creek, Alabama, to Roy Beebe and Annie Mae (Taylor) Lovelady, passed away on November 6, 2025, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester, Indiana. Spencer's life was marked by dedication, passion, and a profound love for family, golf, and the outdoors.
On January 23, 1971, he married Sandra Karriger. Together, they built a life filled with memory-making and shared experiences, supporting each other through the seasons of life.
Spencer devoted twenty years of his life to his career as an electrician at Chrysler, where he was known for his diligence and skill. He retired from this fulfilling position in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
His spirit shone brightly not only in his professional life but also in his personal passions. A lover of golf, Spencer cherished the time he spent on the golf course, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and challenge of the game. He found joy in gardening and maintaining his yard, thriving in any opportunity to immerse himself in nature.
In addition to his professional and personal endeavors, Spencer honorably served in the United States Army. He took great pride in being a member of the American Legion Post 95 in Jonesboro, Indiana, reflecting his commitment to his country and community.
The loving memory of Spencer Lovelady will be forever cherished by his wife, Sandra Lovelady, Marion; sons, Jeffrey Lovelady, Kokomo and Rick (Jennifer) Fisher, Indianapolis; daughter, Sherri (Doug) Ireland, Garner; brother, Clyde Lovelady, Marion; sister, Linda Lynch, Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Marion Lovelady, Dockey Lovelady, Alan Lovelady, and Roy Lovelady.
A graveside service to honor the life of Spencer Lovelady will be held May 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 East 38th Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
The family of Spencer Lovelady has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
