Stephanie Nicole Hunter, born on April 27, 1974, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Ronald and Deborah (Wiltrout) Hunter, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2026, at her home in North Manchester, Indiana. Her passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew her, and she will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all whose paths she crossed.
Stephanie’s journey began in Warsaw, where she grew up and formed the values and qualities that would define her throughout her life. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1992 and continued her education at Marion University in Indianapolis, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
After completing her education, Stephanie established and operated her own homecare and hospice business. This venture reflected her boundless compassion and her calling to serve others. Stephanie was known for being “compassionate to a fault,” always providing exceptional care to those she served. Her unwavering dedication in her professional life brought comfort, dignity, and support to countless individuals and their families during their most vulnerable moments.
For the last eighteen years, Stephanie shared her life with Michael Banter. Their love and companionship brought her great joy and fulfillment. Those closest to Stephanie remember her as someone who instinctively put others ahead of herself. Determined and strong-willed, she approached every aspect of her life with tenacity and a selfless spirit. Friends, family, and clients alike recognized her as a remarkable human being—one whose warmth, empathy, and resilience touched many and will be deeply missed.
The loving memory of Stephanie Nicole Hunter will be forever cherished by her parents, Ronald and Deborah Hunter, Warsaw; companion, Michael Banter, North Manchester; children, Danielle (Robert) Niebolski, New Carlisle, Jason Banter, South Whitley, Jacob and Jack Banter, both of North Manchester; brother, Cory (Andi) Hunter, Cheyenne, Wyoming; sister, Tracie Wise, Silver Lake; four nephews; and five grandchildren.
Family and friends may call Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A celebration of Stephanie’s life will begin at the conclusion of calling.
