Tammy Jean Walters

Tammy Jean Walters, 62, North Manchester, passed away at her home in North Manchester, Indiana, on June 13, 2026. Born on July 29, 1963, in Wabash, Indiana, to Roland and Lois (Yates) Shepherd, Tammy’s life was about her family.

After graduating from Manchester High School in 1981, Tammy embarked on a long and successful career at Heckman Bindery. For over twenty years, she served as a skilled book trimmer, eventually retiring in October of 2025. Earlier in her life, Tammy attended the Congregational Christian Church in North Manchester, where she strengthened her faith.

Family was at the core of Tammy’s existence. Blessed with two children and seven grandchildren, she embraced the joys and challenges of family life with open arms. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she found great happiness in their company. Tammy’s spirit was characterized by laughter and joy, a soul that loved to smile. She found pleasure in simple yet meaningful activities such as camping and sharing Saturday night movie nights with her sister, moments that highlighted her appreciation for life’s quiet blessings.

The loving memory of Tammy Walters will be forever cherished by her children, Tiffany Spriggs, Roann and Derek (Bobby Sue) Campbell, Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Taraka Campbell, Ethan Campbell, Dallas Campbell, Liam Campbell, Kenzie Hall, Kyra Spriggs, and Kylen Spriggs; brothers, Scott (Angie) Shepherd and Kenny (Joyce) Shepherd, both of North Manchester; sisters, Becky Niccum and Sandy Blevins, both of North Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
