Ted Ray Parker, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 4, 1953, in Warsaw, Indiana, to Raymond Jay and Dawn L. (McIntyre) Parker, Ted lived a life marked by hard work, faith, and love for his family.
Ted’s educational journey began at Beaver Dam High School, which he attended until the gym burned. He then transferred and graduated from Akron High School in 1972. On August 24, 2001 Ted married Tammi Haney. The two spent the next twenty-four years making memories along the way.
A lifelong farmer and co-owner of Jay Parker and Sons LLC alongside his brother Chris, Ted dedicated himself to the agricultural way of life. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for his family and the simple joys of life.
Beyond his career, Ted was known for his adventurous spirit and love of flying. He enthusiastically flew his powered parachute and was a member of the Mentone Flying Club. This love of aviation was just one facet of a multifaceted personality; he was a man who could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Ted’s heart was most full when surrounded by his family. He deeply valued the time spent with his wife, sons, grandsons, and brothers, cherishing every moment and the memories created. Ted enjoyed taking his grandsons along on errands and involving them in small projects, fostering bonds and teaching important life lessons along the way.
For over twenty years, Ted was a member of Beaver Dam Community Church, where he worshipped the Lord. His faith and values were central to who he was, and he is now at peace, embraced by the love of God.
The loving memory of Ted Parker will be forever cherished by his wife, Tammi Parker, Silver Lake; sons, Derrick (Erin) Parker and Jamison (Hannah) Parker, both of Silver Lake; brothers, Jon (Mitzi) Parker, Commerce, Texas and Chris (Amey) Parker, Silver Lake; and grandchildren, Blake Parker and Trenton Parker. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Pamela Puls.
Family and friends may call Friday, November 7, 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Butch Troke officiating.
