Theodore "Ted" Lee Nance

Theodore “Ted” Lee Nance, 55, of Liberty Mills, Indiana, passed away on November 2, 2026, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Wabash, Indiana. The son of Thomas O. and Charlene (Hardten) Nance, Ted was born in Wabash on January 2, 1971.

Ted will be remembered as a funny, outgoing, and kindhearted man who was always ready to help anyone at a moment’s notice. He hated seeing others have a bad day and went out of his way to lift the spirits of those around him. A talented mechanic, Ted loved fixing cars and especially enjoyed working alongside his nephew, Tim Spriggs. Professionally, he spent many years driving a truck for PAM Trucking before retiring due to medical reasons.

For twenty-four years, Ted shared his life with his loving companion, Koweba Sue Malik, before her passing on October 19, 2022. Together, they brought their children into the relationship, creating blended family.

Ted’s loving memory will be forever cherished by his children: Christopher Nance of Columbia City; Cassandra (Austin) Coram of Peru; Star (Brandon) Shambarger of Warsaw; Zachariah (Ellie Penning) Burk of Wabash; and Matthew Schutz and Dominik Schutz, both of North Manchester. He is also survived by his siblings: Timothy “Tim” (Pam) Nance of Laketon; Tamara (Marty Middleton) Hare of North Manchester; and Teresa (Stan) Fausnaugh of Wawaka; as well as nine grandchildren (with a tenth the way), and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his companion, Koweba; his son, Corey Malik; and his niece, Jamie Hare.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A celebration of Ted’s life will begin at the conclusion of calling, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be held at Laketon Cemetery in Laketon, Indiana, at a later date.
