Tonya D. Bugg, born on July 29, 1959, in Tuckerman, Arkansas, to Bobby and Iris Sue (James) Lucas, left this world peacefully at her home in North Manchester, Indiana, on September 20, 2025. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Tonya attended Penn High School in Mishawaka. Her career journey began in Arkansas, where she worked at the Arkansas Steel Mill. Later, she relocated to Indiana, where she became a contractor at Chrysler in Bremen. Known for her strong work ethic during her younger years, Tonya's priorities shifted as her beloved grandchildren were born. With immense joy and pride, she embraced her role as a nurturing grandmother, often moving in with her children to care for her grandchildren. Her dedication as a nanny extended beyond mere responsibility, embodying the love and support she poured into her family life. She ensured that she remained a vital part of her children's and grandchildren's lives, reflecting her undying love and dedication to her family.
In June of 1976, Tonya married Timothy Lee Bugg, forming a partnership that greatly enriched her life. Tim preceded her in death on February 13, 2005, but his memory continued to inspire Tonya as she navigated her life.
The loving memory of Tonya Bugg will be forever cherished by her sons, Kenneth Bugg, Denver, Colorado and Kris Bugg, Plymouth; daughter, Misty Orsund, North Manchester; brother, Billy Lucas Jr., Arkansas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim Bugg; and brothers, Terry and Jody Lucas.
Tonya’s family will grieve privately.
