Van Alan Haupert, 69, North Manchester, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2021 at 1:36 a.m. The son of Doyle R and Imogene (Beedle) Haupert, Van was born in Wabash, Indiana on January 25, 1952.
After graduating from Manchester High School in 1970, Van married Teresa “Terri” Usher on January 5, 1973. He spent his life as a hardworking provider and an honest farmer. Van passed these values and traits down to his children, who then passed them down to their own children. He was always there to lend a helping hand and give encouragement and spiritual guidance. Van’s true mission in life was to inform people of the love and healing that Jesus Christ has for all. He provided education and nurturing to children and worked many children’s ministries, both to local areas and around the world. On Sundays he attended the First Brethren Church in North Manchester.
Most people were never fortunate to see the silly side of Van that came out when his grandchildren were around. He played many games with them and helped them foster vivid imaginations. Van was truly a big kid at heart and loved life to the fullest. No matter if Van knew someone or not, he had the unique ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he encountered.
The loving memory of Van Alan Haupert will be forever cherished by his wife of forty-eight years, Terri Haupert; sons, Chris (Amy) Haupert, North Manchester, Indiana and Patrick Haupert, Spencerville, Indiana; daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Odle, Muncie, Indiana and Sarah (Chris) Thompson, Wapakoneta, Ohio; brother, Michael Haupert, Clarkston, Michigan; sister, Susan (Rodney) Warren, North Manchester, Indiana; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Van was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle R and Imogene Haupert.
