Beverly M Michael

Beverly M. “Bev” Michael, 81, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away October 6, 2021 at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. Born in Wabash, Indiana, on March 9, 1940, Bev was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Clara E. (Chalk) Michael.

Bev graduated from Silver Lake High School in the class on 1958. She went on to join the United States Air Force where she had high crypto clearance during the Bay of Pigs.  After her time in the service was complete, Bev worked a variety of jobs, including owning and operating Northern Virginia Floors in Arlington, Virginia. She also worked as a switch board operator at a law firm in Washington D.C before returning to Indiana, where she was a bar manager for the VFW in Winamac, Indiana. She was also a former member of the American Legion. 

In 1962 Bev married Robert Lopez Jr. Robert passed away on February 10, 1983. Bev later married Bill Jorgenson and then Stan Gatewood.

The loving memory of Bev Michael will be forever cherished by her daughter, Brenda (Frank) Howat, Logansport, Indiana; brother, Danny J. (Barbara) Michael, Leesburg, Indiana; sister, Serita Strobel, Warsaw, Indiana; step-grandchildren, Frank Howat Jr., Lafayette, Indiana and Amy Howat, Tipton, Indiana; and two step-great-grandchildren. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Clara Michael; husband, Robert Lopez Jr.; and sister, Priscilla Michael, who passed away in infancy in 1949.

Private services for Bev Michael will be held at a later date with burial at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, 2507 State Road 14, Silver Lake, Indiana.
