Delores Jean (Dingess) Horne

Delores Jean Horne, 70, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away October 7, 2021 at her home. The daughter of Ray and Cora Lee (Dalton) Dingess, Delores was born in Logan County, West Virginia on October 17, 1950.

At the age of eighteen, Delores and her family moved to Indiana. After arriving in the North Manchester area, she worked at United Technologies from 1970 to 1978. She later became a homemaker after having her second child.

For thirty-three years, Delores was with the love of her life, Wilbure Lee Horne, until he passed away on May 20, 2009. Delores was proud of her large family and gave support to them whenever she was able. She often attended Laketon Wesleyan Church in Laketon, Indiana or watched services on television.

The loving memory of Delores Jean Horne will be forever cherished by her sons, Allen (Billie) Horne, Hager Hill, Kentucky, Bryan (Debbie) Horne, Piketon, Ohio, Chris (Betty) Horne, Falcon, Kentucky, Donnie Lee (Rebecca) Horne, Roanoke, Indiana, and John (Carrie) Neely, Ocala, Florida; daughters, Kim (James) Hunt, North Manchester, Indiana, Donna (Lonnie) Click, Paintsville, Kentucky, Sandra Kay (James) Miller, North Manchester, Indiana, and Debbie Turner, Athens, Georgia; brother, Oscar Dale (Kathy) Dingess, North Manchester, Indiana; sisters, Virgie M. (Jake) Shepherd, Servia, Indiana, Carolyn R. (Randy) France, North Manchester, Indiana, Mildred G. (Randy) Eckman, Wabash, Indiana, and Pamela K. Craft, North Manchester, Indiana; thirty-one grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Cora Lee Dingess; husband, Wilbure Lee Horne; daughter, Anita Carol Sexton; brothers, Bobbie, Allen, Jackie, and Wallace Dingess; and sisters, Madeline Shanklin and Christean Calloway.

Family and friends may call Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Horne Family Cemetery in Staffordsville, Kentucky.
