Elsie M (Neeley) Howard

Elsie M. Howard, 92, Silver Lake, Indiana passed away at 5:00 p.m. on May 10, 2019 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, Indiana. The daughter of Clarence and Leora (Shepherd) Neeley, Elsie was born on October 25, 1926 in Mid, Kentucky.

On July 1, 1946 Elsie married Clayton Howard. The two were wed for 70 years before Clayton passed away on November 8, 2016. Elsie was always a supportive mother to their three children. When she wasn’t working to keep the children and house in order, she enjoyed gardening and talking with friends. During Elsie’s life, faith was of utmost importance to her. She was a member of the Free United Baptist Church, Sidney, Indiana.

The loving memory of Elsie M. Howard will be cherished by her son, Dr. Michael D. (Sharon) Howard, LaPorte, Indiana; brother, Dayton Neeley, Norton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jonathan and David Howard; and two great-grandchildren, Kei and Riko Howard. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clayton Howard; two daughters, Wilma Howard, who passed away in 2013 and Velma Howard, who passed away in 1996; and one sister-in-law, Eloise Neeley, who passed away in 2011.

Family and friends may call Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling. Pastor Ward Etsie Allen and Evangelist David Weller will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Myrtle Glen Drive, Silver Lake, Indiana.
