Frederick J. Kling Jr.

Frederick J. Kling Jr., 66, North Manchester, passed away on January 18, 2022 at his home. The son of Frederick J. and Doris J. (Haynes) Kling, Fred was born on March 24, 1955 in Wabash, Indiana.

Fred graduated from Manchester High School in 1973 and married the love of his life, Linda Jayne, the next year on October 12, 1974. The two would welcome two sons, Matthew and Kevin. Fred always put his family first and worked hard to provide for his wife and children.

After retiring from HF Group (formerly Heckman Bindery) after 40 years in April 2021, Fred took the opportunity to spend his days enjoying time with his grandchildren. Fred took his work seriously but those who knew him knew that his bark was worse than his bite. His tough exterior was in stark contrast to who he was on the inside. Fred took pride in hard work but dedicated his life to his grandchildren. To his family, Fred was a pillar of strength and a voice of reason for anyone who needed it. A member of United Methodist Church in North Manchester since 1985, Fred drew this strength from his faith in God and the support and love he received from those closest to him.

The loving memory of Frederick J. Kling Jr. will be forever cherished by his wife, Linda (Jayne) Kling, North Manchester; sons, Matthew (Amanda) Kling, Auburn, and Kevin Kling, North Manchester; brother, John A. Kling, North Manchester; sisters, Joanne (Roger) Allen, North Manchester and Julie (Kenneth) Shepherd, North Manchester; grandchildren, Gavin, Maya, Grayson, Maleigha, Micah, Winnie and Joey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick J. and Doris J. (Haynes) Kling.

Family and friends may call January 22, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling at 1:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Reverend Steven Bahrt will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester.
