Herbert "Eugene" Stanton

Herbert "Eugene" Stanton, 58, Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 7:18 p.m. on July 11, 2019 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born into a large family, Herbert was one of nine children born to Daniel C. and Joyce L. (Clingaman) Stanton Sr., on September 16, 1960 in South Bend, Indiana.

On August 21, 1981 Herbert married Susan Troyer. The two were wed for 23 years before Susan passed away in 2004. “Caveman” as his friends and family called him, love to be outdoors fishing and camping. He always relished making people laugh. Hebert loved his family dearly and was a great son, brother, father, grandpa, uncle and friend. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends and dog Abby. Herbert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Warsaw, Indiana.

Herbert’s loving memory will be forever cherished by his two daughters, Nicole (Matthew) Hall, Cromwell, Indiana and Lynnette (Antonio) Rivera, Sidney, Indiana; three brothers, Kenneth R. Stanton, Silver Lake, Indiana, John B. (Beth) Stanton and Daniel C. Stanton Jr., both of North Manchester; three sisters, Mary J. (Ed) Richards, Claypool, Indiana, Rebecca (John) Hetzner, North Manchester and Sherie D. Hovenden, Warsaw, Indiana; and seven grandchildren. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan Stanton; one son, Joshua Allen Stanton, who passed away at a month old; two sisters, Sandra L. Enyart and Deborah J. Mefford.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. A time of sharing will being at 6:00 p.m. followed by a military service on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Brother Arthur Haas will officiate. Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
