Howard A. Deel

Howard A. Deel, 80, North Manchester, passed away May 5, 2022 at his home. The son of Elden Rufus and Beulah Irene (Cline) Deel, Howard was born March 15, 1942 in Nyssa, Oregon.

During his childhood, Howard’s family frequently moved around the state of Oregon following his fathers work. Their nomadic lifestyle fueled Howard’s lifelong love for traveling around the United States. After graduating from high school in 1960, Howard began his lifelong trucking career hauling logs. He would end up owning and operating his own trucking company, H & R Trucking Inc., for more than 25 years before his retirement in 2009.

Howard was a proud father of seven children. He married the love of his life, Cindy Leisure, on June 10, 2005 after meeting her on his egg delivery route. Howard was a loving and caring father and husband who cherished relationships with select few outside of his family. After retiring, he enjoyed time spent outdoors, working on garden projects with his wife.

The loving memory of Howard A. Deel will be forever cherished by his wife, Cindy Deel, North Manchester; seven children, one brother, three sisters, many grandchildren, and a few great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elden Rufus and Beulah Irene (Cline) Deel; stepmother, Juanita Griggs, one daughter, one brother, one sister, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

At Howard’s request, there will be no services.

The family has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care final arrangements.
