Jane Hale (Fickling) McSpadden

Jane Fickling Hale McSpadden, 79, North Manchester, Indiana, passed away on November 23, 2020 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. Jane was born on August 5, 1941 in Urbana, Illinois, to the late George Sidney and Laura Jane (Fuller) Fickling.

After graduating from North Sacramento High School in 1959, Jane worked for Ida Rolf as a personal attendant and business secretary. In 1977 Jane graduated from Rolf Institute, Boulder, Colorado. From the time she graduated until 2007, Jane owned and operated Jane Hale McSpadden Structural Integration, a Rolfer company that dealt with human soft tissue manipulation and movement education.

Jane had a passion for fine art. She attended San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, California, University of New Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana, in 2004 with a degree in Fine Arts. She also loved a variety of different music, traveling around the United States, reading, and dining.

The loving memory of Jane McSpadden will be forever cherished by her husband, Larry McSpadden, Fishers, Indiana; son, Charles D. (Sarah) Hale, Garland, Texas; step-children, Helen Diana (Rick Todd) McSpadden, Williamsburg, Virginia, Lore (Christine) Walker-McSpadden, Rochester, New York, and Kevin (Mira) Ginger, Portland, Oregon; step-grandchildren, Harper, Boone, Holden, and Margot.

A private celebration of Jane Fickling Hale McSpadden’s life will be held at a later date.
