Randell Webb

March 10, 1945 ~ February 5, 2020 (age 74)

Obituary

Randell Webb, 74, North Manchester, Indiana, entered Heaven on February 5, 2020 at 8:40 p.m. The only child of Norman and Fannie Mae (Webb) Webb, Randell was born on March 10, 1945 in Paintsville, Kentucky.

After graduating from Logan High School, Logan, West Virginia, in 1963, Randell joined the United States Navy. During his time in the military, Randell worked in communications and served in the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he moved back to North Manchester, Indiana to start his civilian life.

On June 25, 1965 Randell married Rachel E. Penrod. One of the things that attracted Randell to Rachel was the big family atmosphere from which she came. As an only child, Randell never had the feeling of being in a big family. Together the two started their own big family with five children. To support the family, Randell worked at Ford Meter Box for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2008. Randell was also a pastor in the United Methodist Churches for fifteen years before retiring. Even after retiring, however, Randell remained a Lay Leader and received his greatest joy from teaching Sunday School. He was a supportive father who coached his son’s baseball team, and he had a huge heart and was someone people could always count on. During his times of relaxation, Randell relished in reading, book collecting, writing, history, watching the Cubs, Bears, and Butler Bulldogs and appreciating his black coffee. He also enjoyed watching Gun Smoke and other old Western shows and movies, especially anything featuring John Wayne. Randell was a member of the United Methodist Church, North Manchester, Indiana, the American Legion and a bowling league for Ford Meter Box.

The loving memory of Randell Webb will be forever cherished by his wife, Rachel Webb, North Manchester; two sons, Matthew Shawn (Pattie) Webb and Britain Scott Webb, both of North Manchester; three daughters, Tawn Shalene (Timothy) McLaughlin, North Manchester; Michelle Renee (David) Dowd, Cortland, West Virginia, and Taren Kay (Clay) McCullough, Columbia City, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and countless people who Randell ministered. He was preceded in death by his parents.
