Robert L. Snell

Robert L. Snell, 87, of Indianapolis, IN died September 4, 2018. He was born April 15, 1931 in Lagro, Indiana to Melvin R. and Trevah P. (Farley) Snell. On September 18, 1955, Robert married Shelia M. Mitchell. The two had been married for 62 years.

Robert graduated from Chester High School in 1949. He attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, Illinois and a Korean War Army veteran serving in the 14th Regiment of the 25th Division. He was a member of the American Legion and the Church of the Brethren. Time with family was a large part of Robert's life and he also loved playing competitive sports including golf, softball, and bowling in a league for many years. Robert worked for Heckman Bindery, Tonne Dairy, and as a District Sales Manager of the Fort Wayne Newspaper retiring in 1985 after 30 years.

Robert is survived by his wife Shelia Snell, Indianapolis, Indiana, one son Kevin J. (Mona) Snell, Huntertown, Indiana, two daughters Kimela J. Martonosy, Bonita Springs, FL and Karen J. (Todd Jackson), Bonita Springs, FL, and six grandchildren Caleb Snell, Hadley Snell, Marissa Martonosy, Evan Jackson, Drew Jackson, Danielle Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother DeWayne Snell, and three sisters Lucille Walters, Louise Sroufe, and Joann Hoover.

Services will be held for Robert on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana. Friends and family may call Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary. Pastor Karen Eberly will officiate and burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 1013 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, Indiana.
